Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

Sometimes I get asked about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M1 Max, 32GB RAM (2021)

I was using an Intel-based 15” MacBook Pro prior to this and the difference is night and day. I’ve never heard the fans turn on a single time, even under the incredibly heavy loads I put it through with my different workprocess all at once.

  • Custom-built PC (windows)

32GB Ram, I9 Intel Processor and for videocard i use the MSI 2080. I use the pc mostly for gaming.

  • Dual monitor setup

I’ve been using two monitors for years now and I can’t imagine going back to just one. I have a 27” 2K monitor for my main display and a 27” 1080p monitor for my secondary display. I use the secondary display for my IDE, terminal, and other tools I need to keep open.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad

I use the Magic keyboard and trackpad for everything. I love the feel of the keys and the trackpad is the best I’ve ever used.

  • Razer Deathadder Pro V2 and Black widow Keyboard

I use the Razer Deathadder Pro V2 and Black widow Keyboard for gaming. The mouse has a high DPI.

  • Secretlab TITAN Evo - SoftWeave - Black

I use the Secretlab Titan Evo for my daily seat and it has been the best chair I’ve ever used. It’s comfortable, looks great, and has great support. I’ve had it for years now and it’s still in great condition.

Server setup

  • Synology NAS 32TB

I’ve been using Synology NAS for years now and I’ve never had a single issue with them. They’re fast, reliable, and have great support. Mostly use it for storage and backup.

  • Unraid Server (Custom)

I have build a low power consuming Unraid server which hosts applications in docker and VMs.

Development tools

  • VSCode

I’ve been using VSCode for years now. I’ve tried others but I always come back to VSCode. It’s fast, lightweight, and has great support for all the languages I use.
